SUMMER TERM 2023

School Games Mark

This year we achieved the Gold Mark Standard for the School Games Mark! 

Orienteering - June 2023

On Friday 16th June, 12 Year 6 children competed in an Orienteering score competition on a particularly warm afternoon. Each pair had 30 minutes to visit as many controls as possible and the team total calculated. All the children showed great determination and the blue team came second overall. Well done.

Football League

On Monday 22nd May this group of Year 6 boys made the football team for the final matches of the Ribble Valley league. They played 5, drew 3 and lost 2 ending the season in 5th place. The team showed super football skill, teamwork and behaviour. Well Done!!

Animal Olympics - May 2023 

This wonderful group of Year 1 children thoroughly enjoyed competing at Oakhill against 15 other Ribble Valley & Hyndburn Schools. The children showed off their super running, jumping, throwing and bouncing skills to finish in 6th place. Well Done! 

APRIL ATHLETICS 

On Thursday 27th April, nine children from Years 3 and 4 went to an athletics event where they had to run 50m and 400m, complete a vortex throw and take part in a standing long jump.
They were all amazing ambassadors for the school. Well done. 

SPRING TERM 2023

Mascots @ Clitheroe FC April 23

The children who have represented school playing football were invited to be mascots at the Clitheroe FC V Leek Town FC match on 1st April. They had a brilliant time, walked onto the pitch with the players and had their photo taken with the team. 

Football Tournament Feb 23 

On Monday, the football team represented the school in another league fixture on the 3G pitches at Roefield. They played six league matches where they won 3 matches, drew 1 match and lost 2 matches. Well Done to all those who played. 

Gymnastics

On Tuesday, these 9 children went to SARCHS to compete in a gymnastic competition where they had to perform a sequence and vault. They all worked so hard to learn and remember the sequence and were a credit to the school. We thoroughly enjoyed accompanying these children. Well done.

Physical Activities Festival 

On Monday 16th January, 8 children from Year 6 went to a Physical Activity Festival at Roefield where they participated in a variety of activities including boxing, spinning, Zumba and Yoga. 

Athletics 

On Thursday 12th January, 12 children from Year 5 and 6 represented the school in a sports hall athletics competition. They all took part in 2 track and 2 field events. They showed great determination throughout and narrowly missed out on third place. Well done. 

Girl's Football Competition

On Friday 6th January, 8 girls represented our school at a competition for Ribble Valley schools. They played in Group B and played 3 competitive matches and 3 friendly matches. They showed great determination and flexibility playing in different positions too. Mrs Earnshaw was incredibly proud of their attitude towards the games and the opposition. They were a credit to the school ⭐️⚽️


AUTUMN TERM 2022

December 2022- Santa Dance

A huge well done to Austin and Isobel, our Wellbeing Warriors, in organising this whole school event. It was fabulous.

Kurling Competition – Year 2 – December 2022

🥌🏆This group of Year 2s were amazing at the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley School Sports Partnership Kurling competition held at St. Augustine’s. They all played wonderfully as a team, playing against 14 other schools showing excellent team spirit and behaviour! Mrs Barnes was very proud of them all and we were delighted to win 3rd place! 🥌🏆

October 2022

Football League Match 1


Well done to the children representing the school at the first league match at Edisford 3G. 


They played four matches in total. They won two matches, drew one match and lost one match. 


Great team spirit and determination was shown by all the children. 

🏃🏼‍♀️🏆🏃🏼Well done to our wonderful cross country team who showed fantastic team spirit & determination! Running the races with big smiles on their faces! The boys team finished in 16th place, the girls finished in I4th place with an overall finishing position of 16th. ⭐️
Well done to Harriet and Jack who came in the top 25 runners and will now be invited to East Lancashire Cross Country Competition on 6th July.🏃🏼‍♀️🏆🏃🏼 

Y2 - 4 Tennis Taster

On Monday 26th September, Mark Schofield came into school to promote tennis with our children and hopefully inspire the next generation of tennis superstars!


Football Tournament September 2022


On Thursday 22nd September, seven children took part in a 6-a-side tournament at the 3G at Edisford. The children had 5 competitive matches in their group and a friendly match. 
They all showed great determination and teamwork.
